Embark on an extraordinary birding journey through North East India, one of Asia’s finest and least-explored birdwatching destinations. This pristine region is a global biodiversity hotspot, home to some of the rarest, endemic, and recently discovered bird species on Earth. From the elusive Temminck’s Tragopan and endangered Bengal Florican to iconic species like the Fire-tailed Myzornis and the endemic Bugun Liocichla, this tropical paradise offers an unparalleled birding experience.

With dramatic Himalayan landscapes, dense rainforests, grasslands, and high-altitude passes, North East India promises unforgettable sightings, rich conservation stories, and immersive wildlife encounters.

Day 1: Arrival in New Delhi
Arrive in New Delhi and meet our representative. Transfer to your hotel for rest and recovery after your journey.

Day 2: New Delhi – Guwahati – Nameri National Park
Fly to Guwahati, Assam, followed by a scenic drive to Nameri National Park, one of India’s premier birding destinations.
En route, visit a local village landfill that serves as a refuge for the Greater Adjutant Stork, hosting nearly two-thirds of the world’s population. Other birds here include Lesser Adjutant, Asian Openbill, Citrine Wagtail, Yellow-bellied Prinia, and Striated Grassbird.
Check in at your lodge in Nameri for overnight stay.

Day 3: Birding in Nameri National Park
Explore the forests bordering Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary, together covering over 1,000 sq km of grasslands, moist deciduous, and semi-evergreen forests.
Primary target: the rare White-winged Duck, often found in forest pools.
Other notable species include Blue-bearded Bee-eater, Green Cochoa, Chestnut-bellied Nuthatch, Velvet-fronted Nuthatch, Maroon Oriole, White-rumped Shama, and hornbills like Great and Wreathed Hornbill.
Post-lunch birding walk, followed by dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Nameri – Dirang (Sangti Valley)
Drive to Sangti Valley in Arunachal Pradesh via the lesser-explored East Kameng district. Birding en route through bamboo forests and mixed broadleaf habitats.
Key sightings may include Grey-headed, White-breasted & Pale-billed Parrotbills, White-hooded Babbler, Pale-headed Woodpecker, Streak-throated Barwing, Golden-breasted Fulvetta, and multiple warbler species.
Arrive at Dirang by late afternoon.

Days 5–7: Mandala Phudung & Sela Pass
Spend three full days birding the higher elevations of Mandala Phudung and Sela Pass (13,800 ft), weather permitting.
Target species include:
Fire-tailed Myzornis
Scaly-breasted & Bar-winged Wren-Babbler
Spotted Laughingthrush
Golden-naped, Scarlet & Crimson-browed Finches
Grey-headed Bullfinch
Ferruginous & Slaty-blue Flycatchers
At Sela Pass, expect iconic Himalayan species such as Himalayan Monal, Blood Pheasant, Snow Partridge, Wallcreeper, Grandala, Bearded Vulture, Himalayan Buzzard, and multiple accentors, rosefinches, and high-altitude thrushes.

Day 8: Dirang – Eagle’s Nest Wildlife Sanctuary
Morning birding around Dirang for Black-tailed Crake, Long-billed Plover, and Blyth’s Kingfisher.
Drive to the legendary Eagle’s Nest Wildlife Sanctuary, covering altitudes from 500–3,200 m. Birding en route may yield Orange-bellied Leafbird, Short-billed Minivet, Black-chinned Yuhina, and Rusty-fronted Barwing.
Check in and begin afternoon birding.

Days 9–13: Eagle’s Nest Wildlife Sanctuary
Spend five immersive days in one of India’s most celebrated birding hotspots. Eagle’s Nest is world-famous for the discovery of the Bugun Liocichla, an endemic species named after the local tribe.
Key species here include:
Bugun Liocichla
Ward’s Trogon
Purple & Green Cochoa
Himalayan Cutia
Rufous-necked Hornbill
Beautiful Nuthatch
Fire-tailed Myzornis
Temminck’s Tragopan
Mixed flocks may reveal Sultan Tit, Fire-capped Tit, Gould’s Shortwing, Slaty-backed Flycatcher, Sapphire Flycatcher, and a wide variety of laughingthrushes, parrotbills, tesias, sunbirds, and wren-babblers.

Day 14: Eagle’s Nest – Tezpur
Final birding session while descending towards the plains. Re-attempt sightings of Long-billed Plover, Blyth’s Kingfisher, and Black-tailed Crake if missed earlier.
Arrive in Tezpur by late afternoon.

Day 15: Tezpur – Guwahati – New Delhi
Drive to Guwahati and fly back to New Delhi. Check in at the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 16: New Delhi – Fly Back Home
After breakfast, transfer to the international airport for your onward journey. The tour concludes.
